Carina Pesch

Carina Pesch, aka La Pesch, studied Social Anthropology, Political Sciences, and Philosophy. Creating sound art she learnt from Antje Vowinckel, Chris Watson, Christina Kubisch and others. She works as sound and voice artist, author, and director in the fields of radio, composition, installation, performance, and the walking arts using high-quality field recordings, voice improvisation, experiments, and interviews. Her works oscillate between narrative and purely sound-based with strong fascination for the thin borderline between fiction and reality. Often she uses spoken word that transcends sentences and syntax and reaches an atmosphere with its own rhythm. She sets in scene encounters and creates contact points in dialogue. Her special interests are personal, social, and ecological boundaries as well as transcending and blurring them, the confrontation and meeting of different horizons of experience. In recent years, she has researched different bodies of water in many of their dimensions and collaborated artistically with her dog as an other-than-human being. Her works have been honored with awards, residencies, grants, and exhibitions (e.g. 2026 stipend by the City of Leipzig for ’S.A.N.D.', 2024 SPATIAL residency and Musikfonds funding for ‘Vltava – A State of Recording', 2024 exhibition of ‘BLINDer' at Academy of Arts Berlin, 2022 performance series 'Follow Me' for City of Kassel /documenta15).
