Lectures and gathering.
Porous Practices I opens a two-part gathering centred on listening, exchange and artistic practice. Presented as part of the Austrian edition of Adventurous Music Plateaux (AMP), organised by Sonic Territories Festival, it brings together local and international artists to share insights into their artistic approaches and to explore connections among composition, improvisation, electronics and experimental sound, with a strong focus on digital tools and the digital realm.
Adventurous Music Plateaux (AMP) is a European hybrid platform dedicated to showcasing music across Europe and fostering collaboration among jazz, improvisational and electronic musicians. Across 2025 and 2026, AMP comprises 16 multi-day editions in 7 European countries, organised by a consortium of 8 partners. Within the project scope, each partner is responsible for organising two AMP editions domestically, with Austrian activities organised by id/l as part of the Sonic Territories Festival.
Each edition combines open workshops and improvised concerts, held live and recorded as 360 VR spatial videos that are published online and made publicly available, thereby extending access to the project beyond the physical event and using digital tools as educational and promotional resources. During the 2026 edition, an on-site presentation/VR exhibition of previously recorded concerts and workshops completes the project's multidimensional scope. Through these activities, AMP supports knowledge exchange, professional development, international collaboration and music export.

- Mariana Miguel — framing environment data into sonic experiencesFrom piano oceano, her first album, to sleep stages, a full-night sleep concert, Mariana Miguel presents her artistic practice and techniques for translating the environment into sound. She explores ways of moving beyond creative routines, turning the world around us into musical patterns and audience interaction into a miniature performance.LECTURE
- Hekla — Drawing Sound in the AirHekla explores the relationship between sound, movement, improvisation and visual notation. Drawing on her work with cello and theremin, she discusses connections between acoustic and electronic sound, graphic scores and physical gestures. Examples from her recordings and performances reveal how visual patterns can become movement and, through the theremin, sound.LECTURE

- La Pesch — Water WorksIn Water Works, LaPesch introduces her artistic research into rivers, oceans and public pools, questioning water’s sounds and human perceptions of them. She juxtaposes the approaches of field recordists, historic composers and her own practice. Her dog’s sensory perspective also became part of this research and one of her compositions. Through samples, live water sounds, improvisation and narration, she shares her findings and explores other-than-human approaches to listening.LECTURE
