Echo Body

EVENT POSTER

A sonic performance by Magdalena Forster that plays with water, air, the body and organ pipes.

Echo Body is a sonic performance by Magdalena Forster that plays with water, air, the body, and organ pipes. Salvaged organ pipes are combined with tubing, metal containers, and water to create a fragmented instrument that only comes alive through physical activation.

Water refers to the ancient hydraulis, the predecessor of the church organ, connecting the instrument’s history with experimentation in sound, breath, and movement.

Each performance responds to its specific site. This time, Echo Body is developed in dialogue with the architecture of the Water Tower in Vienna’s 10th district, allowing the building’s unique acoustics and structure to shape the work.
