Yvo Kaufmann

Yvo Kaufmann works across the intersection of art, design, sound, and body-based practice. Their background includes cultural and social anthropology, photography, costume design, and gender studies. Their artistic practice combines performance, ritual, movement, and deep listening with somatic and embodied modes of perception. In performative works, transformation, intense bodily experiences, and embodied states of presence and perception are central.

A current research focus lies on somatic forms of listening and the question of how collective spaces emerge through resonance, attention, and embodied experience. They have extensive experience in inclusive bodywork with people with and without disabilities. Their practice engages with fluid body perspectives, social spaces, and dynamics of proximity, power, and participation. This work generates experiential spaces in which listening, embodiment, and collective presence are explored as social and transformative practice.
