Marta Beauchamp „Tube Station”

IT/UK

workshop/lecture performance

Marta Beauchamp is a sound artist, musician and artistic researcher based in Vienna. As an internationally performing musician, Marta plays cello, bass and tubes. After studying neuroscience and working as a researcher, she has been working with the medium of sound across the forms of installation and performance, using scientific data as a starting point for her sonic projects. In her long-term project “Tipping Points in Transmediation” she employs transmediation as a methodology to work between scientific narratives concerned with biological rhythms and performative and sculptural sonic spaces. Wax, sand, paper and acoustically generated feedback are the core ingredients of her practice. Sound and objects allow her to inflate dense scientific topics to room-scale installations or performances which offer more space and dimensions for comprehension.
